As part of the architecture team Bauart Architekten and Planer AG we won the competition for the new build of the „Zürich Innovation Center“ for Givaudan AG in Kemptthal.

The judging committee unanimously recommended Bauart’s project for further development.

In particular the „high functionality and flexibility“ of the overall strategy were highlighted.

Below is an extract from the judging committee‘s report dated 11.12.2014:

„The functional rooms are compact and efficiently arranged and set out. The laboratory structures as large interconnected zones with two different depths of room enable very flexible use. A wide variety of structures of room and layouts can be defined, which allows for a very interesting form of flexibility. The connections through the atrium, which is in addition fitted out as a usable space, as well as the transparency of the room units promote communication and chance meetings in a stylish manner. The layout of the raised areas and the technical areas has been solved very intelligently“

Praise was given overall that the requirements set for the laboratory use and the building technology had been fulfilled in a suitable fashion and that in the master plan submitted that we were dealing with a very advanced contribution.
